Simple Cotton Crochet Washcloth

I designed a beginner friendly, simple cotton crochet washcloth to share with you. The simple cotton crochet washcloth is a quick and easy crochet project. The great thing about this crochet pattern is you can make your washcloths in any size.

Cotton washcloths are my favorite things to crochet. I love that they are quick, easy crochet projects that you can make any time of year. I love quick crochet projects because I can throw them in my purse and if I have to wait somewhere I can get some crocheting done.

My fondness for crochet washcloths goes back to my childhood. My Grandma Gertie used to make them all the time. I remember using them to wash dishes when I was a kid. Her tradition remains as that is all I use in my kitchen now. My aunt kept me supplied with them until I learned to crochet but I still have some of her really pretty ones that she made kept in my cedar chest. They were just too pretty to use.

For my crochet washcloths, I only use 100% cotton yarn for because I love the durability and the texture it gives them. I usually grab a ball of cotton yarn when I’m shopping at Walmart but, recently another crocheter recommended the brand I Love This Cotton from Hobby Lobby, so I gave it a try.  Well, the brand name sure is perfect!  I do love it!  It is one of the most softest cotton yarns that I’ve worked with. I love that it glides off your hook. The I Love This Cotton brand also comes in some beautiful colors.

I honestly don’t know why this is my first time using this yarn because been using the Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn for all of my Sassy Beanie hats.

It’s definitely become one of my favorite brands to crochet with.

My normal crochet washcloth size is about 6.5” to “6.5”. I have small hands so I don’t like a big washcloth, but this pattern is adjustable so you can make whatever size you like to use.

Also, not sure how to foundation single crochet stitch? No problem – I have a video tutorial just for you!
