Water Balloons : FREE Crochet Pattern

With this free crochet pattern for reusable water balloons, you have fun without the mess! Everyone loves to play with water balloons, but no one enjoys filling them up or picking up all the leftover pieces of balloon out of the yard.

These crochet water balloons are a quick and easy crochet project. Plus, when you are finished with them just wring them out and let them air dry or pop them in the washer and dryer and store them for the next play time.

You can crochet these water balloons up in no time. It took me less than 10 minutes to make a larger sized balloon. And I’m sure you will enjoy crocheting them way more than filling up regular balloons with water!

With the crochet water balloons, you don’t have to fill them up with water. You just drop them in a bucket of water and they will soak up the water.

These reusable water balloons would be great for in the pool or backyard games or party favors for a birthday party.

I used some scrap Bernat Baby Blanket yarn that I had from other projects but if I get to a yarn store anytime soon I am planning on grabbing some Bernat Blanket Brights yarn. I think those solid rainbow colors would look great.

For these two patterns, I used the magic ring.  If you don’t know how to work a magic ring, you can check out my YouTube tutorial here.

If you prefer not to use the magic ring, you can CH 3 then work the 10 SC in the 3rd CH from the hook.

Have fun!

If you make some of these using my patterns, I would love for you to tag me on social – Instagram or Facebook.
